SHEBA SHRINE CLUB - 50TH ANNIVERSARY

by Nobel Ross Pattenden

President Noble Earl Login and his great committee did an outstanding job celebrating the occasion.

The festivities started @ 8:30am with a "WHITE FISH" Breakfast. (This famous occasion is normally held at the curling bonspiel in Jan) Nobles, ladies, their families and guests enjoyed. Many volunteer Nobles under the direction of chef Noble Joe Malek, made SHEBA proud.

"MONUMENT DEDICATION" @ 5pm - MC Noble Terry Arnold introduced outstanding speakers. Sheba Pres. Noble Earl Login, Illustrious Sirs Noble Ron Stewart (1973) and Noble Raymond A. Causton (2009) also
local political dignitaries MP Patrick Brown, MPP Aileen Carrol and Jeff Lehman of the City of Barrie.

The dedication was followed by a reception and a fantastic dinner under the direction of Noble Joe Malek and his staff, a great job by all involved. -- ORDER of BUSINESS was kept short, then on to the 50TH ANNIVERSARY PROGRAM. MC Noble Garry McCluskey called on several of "SHEBA'S OLD BOYS" who covered the "HISTORY OF SHEBA" and the ”CLUBS UNITS". Lady Debra Money of "SHARAMAZDA" and Special Ladies Club spoke of the dedication to crippled children and SHEBA.

SHEBA AMBASSADOR Noble Stewart Crockatt spoke briefly and turned the floor over to POTENTATE, ILLUSTRIOUS SIR Raymond A. Causton, who congratulated SHEBA on 50 years of success and dedication to the cause. Recalling his welcome at visits to SHEBA and "I always think of SHEBA as a family Club". (Thanks Noble Ray.) Also he mentioned

Chief Raban Noble Bryan Lawson (in attendance) would be his nominee for our next Potentate 2010.

MC Noble McCluskey then introduced the entertainment "The Newcomers" an excellent song and comedy act. Their newest member John (or Jack) Wallwin was at a loss to keep a straight face during his part in the show. ----- YOU HAD TO BE THERE !!!

The evening concluded with the distribution of SHEBA 50th ANNIVERSARY books. This excellent book was the project of Noble Scott (Skid) Rowe. Well done Noble Scott.
