"THE SHRINE"
(The Greatest Philanthropy in the World)

Shriners come from all walks of life. They represent a
cross-section of the various social, economic, educational and spiritual
men found in North America today.
Most people identify Shriners as those men who seem to have such a good
time at their conventions and run around in red hats - which are called a
Fez. What most people don't know is that every Shriner must be a member of
the Masonic Fraternity and that the Shriners are the sole
support of 18 Orthopedic Hospitals for Crippled Children and 3 of the
finest Burns Institutes for Children. All medical care for operations,
hospitalization, skin grafts, plastic surgery, etc. is entirely FREE of
cost to the patients and their families. Any child from infancy to 18
years is eligible for treatment. If you know of a child in need of such
care, please contact us or phone (813) 885-2575 or (416) 633-6317.
Patients in the 22 Shrine hospitals are not children of Masons, but rather
children from communities such as yours.

WHAT EVERY NOBLE SHOULD KNOW
SALUTE:
The Military Salute is used when reciting the Pledge of
Allegiance and during the playing or singing of the National Anthem.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
“I pledge allegiance to my Flag and to the country for
which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with
Liberty and Justice for all.”
SALUTE TO THE FLAG:
A Noble who is wearing his Fez will execute a right
hand salute when the Colours are within six paces of him; he will not
remove his Fez. After the Colours have passed he should drop his right
hand. In case the same Colours pass the same point again, as frequently
happens in a Ceremonial procession or in display drills, the Colours need
not be saluted a second time. The same rule applies to street parades.
PRAYER:
During the offering of a prayer, the Fez should be
removed and held in the right hand over the heart.
THE SHRINE CARD
The Shrine Card is not just a receipt. It is a letter of
introduction to hundreds of thousands of the best citizens of the world.
It admits you to your own Temple and to any other Temple in North America.
